I co-hosted my best friends kitchen tea over the weekend.

Everything turned out so lovely. It was such a perfect day.

Work has been NUTS lately. I am looking forward to the weekend for some R&R.

The New Girl.

Has anyone caught onto this new TV show?

One word – HILARIOUS.

I watched episode 1 on Channel 10 during the week and found myself hooked. So I did what any TV show addict would do in that situation. I downloaded and watched the next 9 episodes.



Zooey Deschanel is a tad awkward, constantly breaks out in song and the chemistry she has with her housemates makes for interesting viewing.

If you aren’t hooked yet; get hooked.

Speaking of being hooked, I am hooked on the glasses “Jess” has been wearing in the show.


After some investigating, I have established that they are “Oliver Peoples” and the make is “Wack”. I need to get me some! ASAP. 



















Unfortunately, I don’t know if they are sold in Australia. Typical.

On that note, I am off to enjoy the sunshine. x

Hiatus.

I have been M.I.A for quite some time. Sincerest apologies!

I have been super crazy busy lately with work, family & friends, settling into my new place and Maid of Honour duties.

My best friend is getting married in April and I am in the process of helping organise her kitchen tea. It will be a “garden tea party” theme to be held at Rippon Lea Estate which is absolutely picturesque.

As for kitchen tea games, I can only think of two (that don’t scream tacky!).

Firstly, “What is in your Handbag?” and secondly “How well do you know the Bride?”

Does anyone have any suggestions of any good (not tacky) kitchen tea games? If so, shoot them across my way.

I have also made cute little blank ‘Recipe Cards’ for all the guests to complete prior to coming to the Kitchen Tea.


Now onto more interesting matters, my dress! The Bride was kind enough to let me choose my own dress for the Wedding. The Bridesmaids are all wearing the same dress, but not me!

I chose this pretty number. Inspired by Olivia Palermo in Marchesa.  

 

Mine will not be cream, but rather a really light mauve colour. Also, mine will also be a little less ‘shift like’ and a tad more fitted... but still shift like (if that makes any sense!)

Cannot wait to see the finished result. I am facing a slight conundrum though - what colour clutch do I team it with? Difficult times here at SMG.

I think the title says it all.

After weeks of much pain, agony and stress, my floors are finally complete. Complete I say!

My move was prolonged by about 4 weeks. It was beyond inconvenient, but there was little that I could do about it. So I sat and was patient. Well, I tried to be patient. I secretly wanted to rage!

I spent hours and hours cleaning today. Walls, floors, windows, doors you name it. There was sawdust as far as the eye could see. Not only did I end up with dry and sore hands, but a gelish nail peeled off too. Major sobs.

The first thing I put together was my drinks trolley.  I still need to add a few things to it though.

One being, (nice) drink stirrers.  If anyone has seen any nice looking ones, please let me know.

Christmas (and floors).

Christmas has come and gone for another year.



It is so sad that we have to wait another year for this special day. I guess that makes it all the more special.

In other news, my floors have not been installed (insert rage, lots of rage).  However, I have been assured that Wednesday 28 December 2011 is the big day. Installation Day.

Seeing that I have been told so many different dates, I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens on 28 December 2012.

Sigh, tradespeople.

More Food and More Gifts.

I had a Kris Kringle lunch with some work colleagues today.

We went to Oriental Spoon on La Trobe Street for some Korean delights.

I ate the same thing as last night. What can I say, I am a creature of habit.



We exchanged Christmas treats. (Note: these treats were finished by about 3.30pm this afternoon. They got me through my sluggish afternoon.)



We then took it in turns to open our Kris Kringle Gifts.

Just the thought of doing more shopping, is making me cringe. The crowds, the crowds, did I mention the crowds?

What a crazy weekend!

All these Christmas soirees are not good for the waistline. Just sayin’.

Saturday, I had my best friend and her fiancé over for brunch. We had pumpkin scones and blueberry bagels. Bagels make my ‘All Time Favourite Things List’. A life without Bagels, is not a life!

I then raced over to a friends Christmas lunch. The spread was very impressive. As was her decorating.

I then raced over to watch New Year Eve with my mum. The best thing about this movie was Josh Duhamel (ridiculously attractive!). The rest was a little yawn worthy. Today was a little more relaxed (thankfully).

Finished off some Christmas shopping in the late afternoon and then headed over to Ishiya Stonegrill in Chinatown for another Christmas do!

I have a confession to make…. I am hopeless with remembering to take photos. I must make it my New Years Resolution to take more photos.

While Christmas shopping today, I did see a couple of rugs that I adored. These were my two favourites.



I am leaning towards the left one. I think it would be more complementary to my light grey couches.

I am a little apprehensive about getting such a light coloured rug. Red wine spills and food stains scare me. Lets just hope the stains are easily removable!
